Add an IRC Network

IRC networks are added and managed from the Networks area of the dashboard.

  1. Sign in to the dashboard.
  2. Open Networks.
  3. Select the option to add a network.
  4. Enter a unique name for the network.
  5. Enter the IRC server hostname.
  6. Choose the correct port and TLS setting.
  7. Enter your preferred nickname and alternative nickname.
  8. Save the network and allow the dashboard to complete the connection process.

Typical IRC ports

  • 6697 — Common TLS-encrypted IRC port.
  • 6667 — Common non-TLS IRC port.

The exact server and port depend on the IRC network you are joining. Check the network’s official connection information before adding it.

Network limits

Free accounts can manage up to five user-managed IRC networks. Premium accounts can manage up to ten.

Changes should be made through the dashboard so the website and live BNC configuration remain synchronised.

If a network does not connect, verify the server hostname, port, TLS setting, nickname and vHost compatibility before repeatedly submitting the same action.
