Expanding the game, its systems and long-term progression
From September, Eggy will be placing a much greater development focus on Eggy RPG.
The aim is to take RPG considerably further by introducing new gameplay systems, expanding existing mechanics, releasing additional editions and continuing to build a game that gives communities much more to do over the long term.
This will include the upcoming release of Powers & Mastery, alongside several other extensions now planned for future development.
Planned RPG Extensions
- Powers & Mastery — A major new progression system centred around unlocking, developing and mastering powers. More information about Powers & Mastery will be revealed separately as development progresses.
- Pets & Companions — Players will be able to collect, level and develop companions that provide combat bonuses, passive effects or utility benefits. Pets can feature different rarities, abilities, cosmetic variants and evolution paths, with rare companions obtainable through drops, quests, achievements and other RPG content.
- Treasure Hunting & Relics — Players will be able to discover treasure maps, clues, fragments and hidden caches throughout the RPG world. Treasure hunts can lead to rare equipment, gold, collectibles, relics and exceptionally rare discoveries, including multi-stage clues and hidden locations.
- Professions & Life Skills — A major expansion of non-combat progression through activities such as fishing, mining, herbalism, cooking, smithing and other professions. Each profession can have its own levels, tools, resources, unlocks, recipes and mastery rewards.
- Arena & Tournaments — Structured competitive gameplay featuring organised PvP battles, tournaments, rankings and seasonal competition. Players will be able to compete within suitable brackets, climb leaderboards and earn trophies, rewards and other recognition for their performance.
- Prestige & Ascension — A new post-level-cap progression system allowing players who reach the maximum level to Ascend and begin their progression again in exchange for permanent benefits. Ascension can introduce Prestige ranks, permanent bonuses, exclusive rewards, titles, cosmetics and increasingly advanced progression milestones.
More Than New Extensions
The September focus will not only be about releasing extensions.
Development will also continue across the core RPG itself, including:
- New gameplay features and mechanics
- Improvements to existing RPG systems
- Additional content and progression
- New editions and expansion opportunities
- More ways for administrators to customise their RPG
- Continued UI, UX and gameplay improvements
- Further integration between existing and future RPG systems
The intention is not simply to keep adding disconnected features. New systems will be designed to complement the existing RPG and give players more meaningful ways to progress, compete, collect, explore and develop their characters.
September marks the beginning of a much stronger long-term focus on Eggy RPG, with Powers & Mastery and the five planned extensions above forming only part of what is planned for its future.
