IRC Inbox Settings and Privacy

IRC Inbox is an optional Premium feature for supported private-message threads and dashboard replies.

Available controls

Eligible accounts may be able to:

• Enable IRC Inbox logging.
• View discovered private-message threads.
• Open a thread.
• Mark a thread as read.
• Hide and restore dashboard thread entries.
• Enable dashboard replies.
• Choose whether message previews are shown.
• Select a retention period.

Dashboard replies

When dashboard replies are enabled, replies are queued by the dashboard and sent by an external worker.

The web page does not connect directly to IRC to send the message.

An encrypted credential may be stored so the worker can send replies without asking for your password every time.

Privacy

IRC Inbox is:

• Opt-in.
• Visible only to the signed-in account owner.
• Limited to the account's supported message data.

Hiding a thread changes its dashboard visibility.

It does not necessarily delete the underlying BNC log data.

If no threads appear

Check that:

• Premium is active.
• IRC Inbox is enabled.
• The inbox module reports as active.
• Private-message threads have actually been recorded.
• Hidden threads do not need restoring.
