Read and Unread Thread States

Each visible IRC Inbox thread is labelled as either:

Unread

or:

Read

Unread threads

An unread label indicates that the dashboard considers the thread to contain activity that has not yet been marked as reviewed.

To clear the unread state, select:

Mark read

Opening and reading

Open the thread to review its available message history.

Depending on the current dashboard state, opening a thread and explicitly marking it as read may be separate actions.

Use Mark read when the unread badge remains visible.

If the state appears wrong

Try:

1. Refresh the inbox.
2. Open the affected thread.
3. Select Mark read.
4. Refresh the dashboard once.

When reporting an incorrect unread state, include:

• The network.
• The thread nickname.
• The date of the latest message.
• Whether the unread state returns after refreshing.
