Updating Your Email and Password

Account settings allow you to keep your email address current and securely change your password.

Updating your email address

Your email is used for:

• Password recovery.
• Support ticket follow-up.
• Important service notices.
• Security or abuse contact.
• Premium or payment notices where applicable.

Your account email is private and is not displayed in your IRC WHOIS.

Changing your password

You will need to enter:

• Current password.
• New password.
• New password confirmation.

The new password must meet the minimum length shown by the dashboard.

What the update changes

A successful password update changes:

• Your dashboard login password.
• Your live BNC password.

No full service restart is required.

After changing your password

Update the saved password in:

• Every IRC client using the account.
• Web Chat when next requested.
• Dashboard reply credentials where prompted.

An IRC client that still contains the previous password will fail to reconnect.

Always change your password through the website rather than through unsupported manual controls.
