Username Capitalisation and Account Credentials

Your BNC username should be entered exactly as it appears in the dashboard.

BNC connection usernames and network names are case-sensitive in connection formats.

For example, an account created as:

Nicu

should not automatically be assumed to work as:

nicu

Connection format

A typical connection format is:

Username/NetworkName:Password

Copy the exact connection command from the dashboard rather than typing it from memory.

Common mistakes

• Using different capitalisation in the username.
• Using the wrong network name.
• Leaving out the network name.
• Entering the IRC server password instead of the BNC account password.
• Using an old password saved in the IRC client.
• Adding spaces around the username or password.

Dashboard login and IRC connection are different forms

The dashboard login form may accept your account username or email address.

Your IRC client requires the exact BNC connection format shown for the selected network.

Never publish a completed connection command because it contains your password.
